Welcome to the Belmont Center Business Association

Belmont was founded in 1859 from land that was originally part of Watertown, West Cambridge, now known as Arlington, and Waltham. The name ‘Belmont’ originated from a 200 acre estate owned by businessman, John Perkins Cushing. In addition to being one of the largest land donors, Mr. Cushing was the leading advocate for the establishment of Belmont.
